Terms & Conditions

These terms apply when you request or make a booking with Nildola Hideaway at Nildola Estate, Bulathsinhala, whether for the villa, a room, a camping spot or an experience such as an ATV ride. By ticking the box on a booking form you agree to them and to our Refund & Return Policy.

How booking works

• Sending a request does not reserve anything. It tells us what you would like.
• Your booking is confirmed only when we send you a confirmation by email or WhatsApp. Until then the dates, rooms and ride times are not held for you, and someone else may be confirmed first.
• We may decline a request, for example if the dates are no longer free. If we do, you pay nothing.
• Please check the details in your confirmation and tell us straight away if anything is wrong.

Prices and payment

• Prices are in Sri Lankan rupees (LKR). The price shown when you send your request is an estimate, and the confirmation email states the total we agree.
• To keep your booking, a deposit of 50% of the total must reach us within 48 hours of our confirmation message. If it does not, we may release your dates and the booking may be cancelled. Please tell us if you need more time.
• The rest is paid on arrival.
• Payments are made by bank transfer to the account in your confirmation email. Please quote your booking reference so we can match your payment. Any charges your bank makes are yours to pay.
• Extras you choose (for example meals or a bonfire) are added to the total at the price shown when you booked.

Guests, check-in and conduct

• Each room, camping spot and ride has a maximum number of guests. Please do not exceed it without asking us first.
• Check-in is from 2:00 pm and check-out is by 12:00 noon. Please tell us in advance if you will arrive late or need to leave later.
• Please treat the estate, our staff and our neighbours with respect. Take your rubbish with you, use fire pits only where we allow, and follow our reasonable instructions for safety and for the care of the estate.
• We may ask a guest to leave if their behaviour puts others or the estate at risk. No refund is due in that case.

Borrowed items, damage and loss

• Some things are lent to you during your stay or ride, for example camping gear, kitchen equipment or ATV riding gear. We will give you a list of what you borrow, and you agree that list with us when you arrive (or before your ride).
• Please return the same items, in the same condition apart from normal wear, when you check out (or when your ride ends).
• You are responsible for any borrowed item that is damaged, lost or not returned, and for any damage to the property caused by you or your group. You pay the cost of repair or replacement.
• We will tell you the amount and how we worked it out. It is paid before you leave, or as we agree with you.

ATV rides and other activities

• The estate is a natural environment with hills, water, wildlife and uneven ground. Activities carry risks, and you take part at your own risk, within the limits of the law.
• All riding gear (helmet, gloves, knee guards and the pads needed) is provided and lent to you for the ride. We go through the rules with you at the site before you ride. Riders must follow the safety briefing and the instructor at all times.
• We may refuse or stop a ride if we think it is unsafe, including because of weather or ground conditions, or if a rider does not follow instructions. If we cancel a ride for safety or weather reasons, we will offer another time or refund what you paid for that ride.

Cancellations and refunds

Our Refund & Return Policy explains what you get back if you cancel. It forms part of these terms.

If we have to change or cancel

Sometimes weather, road conditions, safety or events outside our control mean we cannot provide what we promised. We will tell you as soon as we can and offer you other dates or a refund of what you paid for the part we could not provide.

Our responsibility

• We take care to provide what we describe, and we will put things right where we reasonably can.
• Nothing in these terms limits any right you have by law, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.
• Within the law, we are not responsible for loss of or damage to your belongings, or for events outside our reasonable control.

General

• These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka.
• We may update these terms. The version you accepted when you booked is the one that applies to your booking.
